Veolia Offers Yard Waste Service for Storm Debris Clean-Up
Although storms came through the Hazelwood area over the weekend, they weren't severe enough to warrant the issuance of a Storm Declaration. Reports collected from City staff indicated minimal storm damage caused by downed trees and debris.
Veolia Environmental Services offers yard waste service in addition to its regular trash and recycling collection services. If residents haven't signed up for it yet, they can do so today and have their yard waste (storm debris) removed beginning shortly. Minimum subscription to this service is three (3) consecutive months for only $7.25 per month. However, beginning in September, the cost will go up to $7.50 per month, per the contract.
In preparing yard waste for Veolia to pick-up, residents should keep these guidelines in mind. This is an 8-bag or can limit for each pick-up. Limbs/brush must be securely bundled with a maximum of 18 inches in diameter and 48 inches in length with a maximum weight of 50 pounds per bundle, limited to four (4) bundles per pick-up. Branches cannot be more than 4 inches in width.
Please do not place yard waste in plastic bags. Use a container clearly marked "Yard Waste Only" or biodegradable paper bags.
