Price Reductions for Season
Passes at Aquatic Center
In an effort to provide Hazelwood residents and visiting guests with more added value for their summertime fun, the Hazelwood Parks and Recreation Division is offering reduced prices for season passes to White Birch Bay Aquatic Center.
These discounted rates are effective from now until Labor Day on September 6 when the water park closes for the season at 5 p.m.
 Instead of the regular season pass prices of $75 for Individuals and $160 for Families (up to 4 people) for City Residents, the Hazelwood Parks and Recreation has lowered these prices to $50 for Individuals and $110 for Families (up to 4 people). Plus, the extra $40 fee for each additional family member above the 4-person limit has been reduced to $25.
For non-residents, Individual season passes have dropped from $140 to $95. And, Family season passes are now $180 instead of $275.
"Everyone has been affected by the economic recession in one way or another. Some people are opting to take staycations close to home instead of spending a lot of money going on vacations to Florida and other tourist spots," said Doug Littlefield, Hazelwood Parks and Recreation Division superintendent. "By lowering our Aquatic Center season pass prices, we're helping people stretch their entertainment dollars so they can have more fun in the sun with less money."
White Birch Bay Aquatic Center, 1186 Teson Road, is located in White Birch Park near the Hazelwood Community Center. Its daily hours of operation are from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m.; however, the water park closes on days when schools in the Hazelwood School District are in session. Also, White Birch Bay closes at 5 p.m. on days when Hazelwood hosts a swim team event. For pools to open, the temperature must reach 72 degrees before 3 p.m. After 5 p.m., the pools will close if the temperature drops below 72 degrees.
Daily admission prices will remain the same as follows: Children (Ages 3 & Under) Free - Residents / Free - Non-Residents; Children (Ages 4 -15) $5 - Residents / $10 - Non-Residents; Adults (Ages 16 to 55) $6 - Residents / $12 Non-Residents; Seniors (Ages 55 & Over) $5 - Residents / $12 Non-Residents.
