Retirement after 26 Years of Service
After 26 years of dedicated service to the City of Hazelwood, Fire Chief Jim Matthies of the Hazelwood Fire Department (HFD) has announced his retirement effective June 30, 2011. He is leaving behind an impressive legacy of many "firsts" that have elevated the department's ranking as one of the best in St. Louis County.

Police Chief Honored for
Community Service with Awards

On May 13, he was given one of North County Inc's (NCI) Community Development Awards at its 34th Annual Breakfast.
