Employment Policy
All applicants will be given equal consideration for all positions with the City, regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, marital or veteran status, or the presence of a non-job-related medical condition or disability. However, Hazelwood residents will be given preference over nonresidents for positions when all qualifications of the applicants are equal. Applicants shall not be relatives of elected City officials.
General Philosophy of City Employment
All employees work toward the same goal, to provide efficient and economical municipal services to the citizens of Hazelwood. This can be achieved by mutual employee cooperation. The City shall not discriminate against any employee because of his activities or membership in an employee union or employee advisory committee.
Days of Pay
Employees are paid on a bi-weekly basis, for the two (2) week period ending the previous Saturday, except as necessary to comply with applicable laws. Paydays are every other Friday.

FIREFIGHTER/PARAMEDIC The Hazelwood Fire Department is now accepting applications for a firefighter/paramedic. Applicants must be a high school graduate and graduate of the St. Louis Fire Academy, possess a paramedic license and driver's license valid in the state of Missouri.
